For roles based in London, your contractual place of work will be Stratford. While the Stratford site is expected to become operational from November 2025 – March 2026, you will be required to carry out your contractual duties from Vauxhall or another reasonable location on a temporary basis during the interim period. 

Please note that, as Stratford will be your contractual place of work, any subsequent move from a temporary location will not entitle you to payments for travel time or costs under the Relocation and Excess Travel Policy. 

About the Role

Information about the Command

Investigations Command is the core crime fighting capability of the NCA. We take an intelligence-led approach and concentrate on tackling the criminals and risks to the public which are beyond the capability or capacity of other law enforcement bodies. Our work is largely focused on investigating Organised Immigration Crime, Human Trafficking, Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Economic Crime, Firearms, Drugs, Kidnap and Extortion and Money Laundering. The Investigations Command provides a flexible, shared operational capability, designed to maximise the impact of the UK's collective resources against serious and organised crime. Our teams respond to a broad range of threats, many of which also remain a responsibility for police forces and other agencies as well as private industry.

Information about the Business Area

This DD area incorporates our response to organised immigration crime (OIC), the Command's London-based multi-threat and borders teams, and the Special Operations Unit (SOU).

This is an exciting new role in Exhibit management. You will manage the new central Exhibit stores at Stratford and the Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) London in Tolworth, and supervise/manage the G5 exhibit store Officer. You will manage the continuity of Exhibits in line with exhibit policy and legislation; contribute to court proceedings by identifying and readying exhibits for court; manage environments for exhibit storage including maintaining and managing the freezer operation and keep records of same. You will liaise across multiple teams and commands assisting them with trial requirements by overseeing processes for extraction of evidential material from exhibits. 

The ability to manage two exhibits stores officers across two separate locations in Tolworth and Stratford so the ability to travel to both sites is essential.

Please note the Tolworth site will be operational by November 2026 so any applicant based at Tolworth will be required to work from London until this time  

You will have an Operational background, with an excellent knowledge of exhibit management, H&S polices and risk management; an excellent understanding of UK legislation around exhibit management.  You will have a proven track record of management/development of others.
Health and SafetyConduct relevant health and safety procedures and report issues or identified risks in accordance with health and safety legislation and Agency policy
Court AttendanceAttend court and give evidence if required
Exhibit ManagementAppropriately package exhibits and arrange for transport to court as required, accurately record the exhibit movement.
Legislative RequirementsImplement any legislative changes/audit findings with regard to exhibit management.
Building RelationshipsEnsure that the exhibit store has adequate cover, liaising with Regional exhibit store manager to manage cover across sites
Manage exhibit record keeping Manage exhibits recording and receipting, along with overseeing movement and removal of exhibits including opening/sealing actions. Whilst also taking timeous receipt of exhibits left in the out of hours area of the exhibit store including the drop box safe, recording and storing appropriately.
Police and Crime Evidence Act (PACE)Selecting exhibits due for return to subjects in line with PACE and advise case team.
Appropriately package exhibitsAppropriately package exhibits required to be sent from the exhibit store e.g. to forensics, and accurately record the movement of same. 
Countersign exhibit requestsCountersigning forensic requests on exhibits as requested by the case team. 
Storage Management Manage exhibit safe, storage and storage medium environments, ensuring the exhibit store has adequate documentation. Including selecting and managing exhibits to be placed into remote storage, accurately recording and managing actions and package exhibits appropriately to storage crates. 
Continuous Professional Development in Exhibit ManagementKeep up to date with exhibit handling requirements, legislation and guidance, liaising with and participating in the Exhibits Working Group (EWG)

Exhibit ManagementA good working knowledge of exhibits, their handling and the legislation surrounding exhibit management.

Essential Criteria

You must meet the essential criteria and evidence this within your application to be considered for the role.
Previous experience of Exhibits Management and surrounding UK Legislation.
Any applications from candidates not meeting this eligibility criteria will not progress.

Desirable Criteria

Desirable criteria are only used for assessment in the event of a tie break.
PIP 1 or above.

Salary

Allowances are reviewed annually and may be increased, decreased or removed.
All salary offers will be made in line with Remuneration Policy. 
  • Roles based in London will receive an additional London Weighting (Per Annum) of £4218

Assessment Outcome
Outcomes will be communicated via the NCA recruitment portal.

Successful candidates will be expected to undertake an occupational health assessment. Depending on the role an in-person medical may be required in either London or Warrington. Unfortunately, travel costs will not be reimbursed.
