Information about the Command
The role of Intelligence is to develop the right operations, which target and disrupt - by the most effective means - the offenders who seek to cause the highest harm to the UK. A diverse directorate with a wide variety of unique functions and specialist skillsets in our ranks, some of which we deliver as the national provider for the wider Serious Organised Crime (SOC) system. From our niche technical capabilities, to our overseas network of International Liaison Officers (ILO) and our Tasking teams, there are many component parts which contribute to the efforts of the directorate and the National Crime Agency (NCA).
Information about the Business Area
The International Department works with international partners and coordinates UK law enforcement support overseas to gather and share intelligence, conduct operational activity and enhance international delivery through a variety of means, including capacity building, training, and joint European and International taskforces. The International Department also provides the specialist capabilities available through its membership of INTERPOL and EUROPOL in supporting UK law enforcement intelligence and operational requirements, and working directly with partners to safeguard vulnerable members of the community.
The Joint International Crime Centre (JICC) was launched in April 2023 and was created in order to coordinate and support the response of UK policing and law enforcement to tackle international crime. The JICC comprises officers and staff from across UK policing and the NCA, offering a multi-agency approach to meeting the increasing international demands of territorial policing. The JICC provides a whole-system approach to tackling international crime harnessing UK and international expertise and providing access to specialist capabilities both within the NCA and partner organisations including HMRC, ACRO, the CPS and partners across UK law enforcement and criminal justice. The JICC is jointly overseen by the NCA Director General and Chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC).
The JICC Analysis Team is a multi-disciplinary team of Intelligence, Performance and Technical Analysts. As a part of the JICC, you will provide an international cooperation service to front line policing and wider law enforcement, using all of the international capabilities within the NCA. You will build and maintain domestic and international relationships to deliver against operational objectives.
The JICC's Analysis & Insight Team provide tactical and strategic support across all JICC capabilities in order to identify and prioritise risk and drive our operational response. Our Senior Analyst and their team play a key role in supporting evidence-based decision-making, prioritisation and risk management across the JICC, with an impact far wider across the NCA, policing and partners.
Every day in the JICC is different. You will be responsible for dealing with the response to a variety of threat areas, with links to national and international priorities. You will be working in a dynamic environment, prioritising and managing expectations of both UK and international partners, whilst delivering a quality service to meet customer needs.
